As a marine corp veteran, Bill showcases his heroism through his philanthropic involvement in the Veterans Chamber, his not-for-profit work, and the financial education he provides his clients.
When he was in school, he changed to business management because he got out of the marine corps and found he was managing his money poorly. “I went to school to understand how business owners create money and that’s just what I wanted to do. I started in insurance for a few years before discovering the CFP. I loved the idea of financial independence and just the concept of wealth in general.” He wanted to help others with the literacy of money because he didn’t have it growing up. He now has his business dedicated to creating an experience with his clients that is relatable, transparent, and open. He has also been recognized in InvestmentNews’ 40 under 40.
Bill’s largest challenge to overcome has been his own biases—his own viewpoints and experiences with money. He says, “I now use this to empower me and to allow me to be competent in making other people’s dreams and goals come true.”

Giving & participating are a constant
I help people and business owners, by sharing my knowledge and being as much of a resource as I can to help them really make changes.
Bill participates in veterans’ events, and the local Veterans Chamber. “A person will reach out in need of getting back on their feet and I will help them recoup and deal with the issues.”
He also assists with non-profits for education. “I help people and business owners, by sharing my knowledge and being as much of a resource as I can to help them really make changes.”
Bill’s favorite success story centers around a female client who started with this small ice cream shop and had an idea for an ice cream product. “Through the collaboration of working with me, they were able to identify what was important to them to ensure her and her son were protected. They didn’t realize that this industry had so much opportunity. We are in our third year now and it’s been amazing to see how they are able to expand their business.”
One of Bill’s personal heroes is Eddie Murphy—”I love Eddie Murphy. He is a person who has persevered through pain, loss, trials and tribulations and has kept a positive attitude with no expectation of getting rich and famous —only aiming to bring value to the table because he knows his worth. People will love or hate him, but he will always be himself.”
be the best person you can be, and that there’s nothing we can’t achieve
Another hero is his mother. “My parents were separated when I was young. Growing up black with a single parent in the hood, while I couldn’t see it when I was younger, was hard. I’m so proud of the belief that she raised me with which is to be the best person you can be, and that there’s nothing we can’t achieve. My Dad is my other hero, he has shown me what to do and what not to do, but most importantly just to try.”
“This business can be hard, —it takes a lot of emotional grit and internal tenacity. I don’t know that I’m there yet, but I’m still going for it. To any advisor looking to help people, just keep on trying—you never know when you come across the path of that person that needed you most. Don’t quit, persevere.”
